Calendar for Kindergarten Printable

This calendar for kindergarten printable was created to give students their own calendars for calendar time.

Looking for the perfect calendar for your homeschool set up? Made particularly with homeschool families in mind, this fun calendar helps the whole family begin the school day with an interactive activity.

No more sitting around and waiting to take turns to put up the day of the week. No more wasted wall space with a giant pocket chart calendar.

These printable calendar pages give young learners their own kids calendar. Young children will enjoy having a calendar notebook for their own personal use. My four year old and two year old have so much fun with this calendar each morning.

You can head to the bottom of the post to grab your Student Calendar from our shop.

I recommend laminating the pages after printing and storing them in a half-inch binder. Add clear velcro dots to the spaces on the blank calendars and the back of the calendar pieces.

Its the best thing having the calendar pieces in an accessible place, so after the blank monthly calendar page there are pages to store all the pieces with velcro dots. This way kids of all ages can easily turn the pages and find the calendar pieces they need.

Each morning this personal Student Calendar gives students a great way to work on a variety of skills during calendar time. Young children will get a chance to strengthen their fine motor skills in a fun way by pulling the velcro pieces off as they move the calendar pieces around.

First graders can practice writing the date on the provided line with dry erase markers. Kids of all ages will have the chance to practice identifying the days of the week, months of the year, and calendar year.

The first page of the Student Calendar is a blank monthly calendar to laminate and reuse each month. This way you will not need twelve monthly calendar pages.

Use the larger numbered calendar pieces to fill in the dates on the monthly calendar. At the top students will fill in the date with the correct day of the week, smaller numbered pieces for the date, the month of the year, and the calendar year.

We work together to identify the day of the week by singing a days of the week song to the tune of The Addams Family theme song. We point to the names of the days of the week along the top of the calendar as we sing. We sing the song again and stop when we get to the day above our number for the date.

Each kid goes to their page for storing the names of the days on the following page. The days are marked with different colors to help young children find the right day.

We then work together to identify what yesterday was and what tomorrow will be and fill in those spots on the front page. My kids have so much fun getting to find the right pieces and put them on the calendar themselves.

We also sing a months of the year song and point at each month on the storage page as we sing. Each month of the year as a cute picture that fits with the theme of the month to help young children identify the months of the year.

Included in the pdf file are six calendar year numbers. This way you will not have to buy another kids calendar again next school year. When the new year comes around we just change the number on the date line to the next year.

After moving the calendar pieces to identify the date, a great addition to this morning time menu is the provided line where students can copy the date with dry erase markers. This gives first graders a chance to improve their penmanship and practice writing the date, and young children the opportunity to strengthen their fine motor muscles.

Each day you can also talk about the weather with your students and place the type of weather for the day in the “the weather is” box. On one of the following pages is a weather chart to store the extra weather pieces.

Included types of weather are: sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, stormy, windy, snowy, cold, warm, and hot. I included the temperature pieces so you can talk about how the temperature relates to the season.

The last box is “the season is” box. I included all four seasons and fall and autumn, so you can pick the term your family uses.

The last page we have in our calendar notebook is the extra dates and holidays storage page. This is where you an store the pictures for all holidays and important dates and whatever numbers are not currently on the monthly calendar.

I worked to include most popular holidays, but if there is any holiday or important day that your family celebrates that was not included you can use the blank small square and write whatever you would like to include. There is also a piece that says “my birthday” that students can put on the monthly calendar when their birthday is coming up.

I also included in this pdf file a cover page to place at the front of your calendar notebook. The cover page, calendar page, and all storage pages come in two different color versions.

We also include any warm-up papers in our binders, so I named the cover page “My Warm-Up Binder.” You could even keep your kids’ chore calendars in this binder.
